Join AMC's Conservation Action Network (C.A.N.). Protect your right of access to your favorite hiking trail! Ensure that your favorite white water paddling areas have water in the summer! Send the message that rail trails and cycling paths are important to you! Take a stand on wilderness!

Why Join C.A.N.?

C.A.N. is an e-mail based listserv that sends out 1-3 messages per month about conservation issues that are relevant to people in our region who love to get outdoors. You can learn about how to protect your favorite lands, how to have a say in how those lands are managed, and take a stand on state and federal legislation that affects our mountain and river conditions.

Every message includes a brief paragraph describing the issue at hand and an action item. If that action is to write a letter to an elected official, we will include a sample for you to base it on. You can include your own edits, and when you hit send, the network automatically sends it to your representatives based on your address information.

Even more exciting is the capacity of C.A.N. to keep you up to date on local issues. Using your address again, C.A.N. will send out occasional targeted messages about those issues that are very localized. This means that you keep tabs on happenings in your neck of the woods, without having to hear about every ongoing issue in the state.
